Even
after a rigorous 10 year stint in the industry, Vivek (CEO, Communicate 2) claims
he still doesn't know how to hire tech guys. And the only thing that made Vivek
take on Brijesh Pandey is the fact that he shares his birthday with him.
Brijesh's first stint with Communicate 2 started 6 years back. One of the pillars
of technology (they say he can write algorithms backwards), Brijesh played a vital
role in Communicate 2 and remained one of the major forces behind it's continued
success.
It was last year that Brijesh decided to do something else. He realized that the
next revolution of contextual advertising is going to be VIDEO. Deciding to take
the plunge, he left Communicate 2 and joined Pictureal India Ltd. as lead programmer.
At Pictureal he spent much of his time devoted to the development of web applications
for searching and storing and creating Professional DVD's of home made videos. He
has also worked as programmer in Rolta India Ltd., one of the leading Internet Service
Providers in India .
With fame that preceded him, Brijesh was soon becoming a force to be reckoned with
in the development of search related applications. His understanding of the medium
was complete. As an added bonus he could talk in coherent sentences at any given
point in time, unlike other geeks.
It was then that Vivek gave him an offer to join back. And Communicate 2 was a perfect
fit. With more than 8 years of industry knowledge including creating tools for web
applications, technology mapping, placement and video searching, his contribution
to Communicate2 includes over 20 software modules ready to be leveraged into the
development of world class tools.
Brijesh today heads the paid search
application division of C2.
It' a chill job. He smiles and smokes a lot. Drinks a lot of coffee. After all,
working on defined variables such as words is a cakewalk for someone used to writing
applications that have to find meaning and define variables based on video.
They say Vivek doesn't do tech interviews anymore. It's Brijesh. Good for us. Otherwise,
C2 would be full of all kinds of people born on the same day as our CEO. He got
lucky once. But we're not taking that chance again.
